Dr. John Carson is a Technical Integration Manager within the NASA Space Technology Mission Directorate. He is responsible for the precision landing elements of the Entry, Descent and Landing technology development strategy, including strategy formulation and evolution, incubation of solicitations and partnerships, and oversight and coordination between precision-landing focused projects. His 20+ year career at NASA has included residency at multiple NASA centers, including the Johnson Space Center, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and Armstrong Flight Research Center. His technical experiences have included contributions to flight projects, field testing, fundamental research and technology development, as well as technology transfer and commercialization. He has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with a controls focus from the California Institute of Technology, and a Bachelors and Masters in Aerospace Engineering and Engineering Mechanics from the University of Texas at Austin.
